DR. DEKE MARCUS — LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Deke Marcus is a California-licensed psychologist (PSY28934) with a unique ability to bridge the worlds of psychology and business leadership.

The Collective Centre of Psychology, Inc., founded in 2017, is dedicated to helping individuals through psychodynamic principles. Dr. Marcus works with clients to uncover the unconscious patterns, emotional conflicts, and formative experiences that shape their present lives. Drawing on extensive psychoanalytic and depth psychology training, including mentorship with a Jungian Certified Analyst, he helps individuals explore identity, relationships, phase-of-life transitions, and meaning.

Recognizing that executives and business leaders face a different set of pressures, Dr. Marcus established ExecPsychologyOC. This practice is focused on the human side of leadership—helping executives navigate stress, role conflict, organizational dynamics, and high-stakes decision-making. ExecPsychologyOC is solution-driven and performance-oriented, blending clinical expertise with strategies that enhance clarity, resilience, and effectiveness.

Before entering psychology, Dr. Marcus worked as an Information Technology Executive in startups, private firms, and large publicly traded companies, giving him firsthand understanding of corporate culture, rapid change environments, and leadership demands. He interfaced with Owners, C-Level Executives, Presidents / Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, and Employees. Combined with his psychology training, this experience allows him to meet executives at the intersection of personal insight and professional performance. His experience with military veterans also includes an understanding of culture, stress-related struggles, and adjustment difficulties, informed by his doctoral research with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs on the impact of resiliency training on post-traumatic stress in service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dr. Marcus earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University, and a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
